MAG's EastART Egg Auction and Grown-up Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 24,  4 - 6 pm

The Madison Artists Guild invites you to participate in the first Grown-up Egg hunt in Madison to benefit the Guild and the Caring Place of Madison.  This is an event that is geared toward the adults in the family, so get a sitter, make it a date night and bring your big sweetie for an outdoor afternoon of fun and frolic.

The Brady Inn at 250 N. Second Street will be the location of an amazing display and auction of original EastART eggs, works of art created by members of the Madison Artists Guild.  Proceeds from the auction will benefit not only the talented artists, but also the Caring Place of Madison and the Madison Artists Guild as well.

This afternoon event begins at 4 pm when we kick off a Grown-up egg hunt for "golden eggs" filled with coupons and prizes from local downtown businesses.  Join in the thrill of the hunt for a donation of $10 and run like the kid you used to be, trying to find where those prized eggs will be hidden in and around the lawn and gardens of the Inn.  What fun!

There is no charge to participate in the wine and cheese reception/auction  The EastART silent auction will begin at 4:30 and conclude around 5:30 when we announce the lucky high bidders for these diverse works of art.  There are painted eggs on porcelain, ceramic, wood, and real blown out eggs.  There are even some made of baling wire!  Any one of the would be the prize winning egg in your Easter basket!  The artists have set a minimum bid for their eggs and the sky's the limit for bidding.  Remember you're promoting our artists, stimulating the economy and helping the Caring Place provide much needed food for those in need in our community.  It is definitely a win-win-win!

2011 FIREFLY FESTIVAL

Friday, July 29 from 7 - 9pm in Town Park

For the third year in a row, the Madison Artists Guild participated in the City's Firefly Festival at Town Park by staging a Twilight Paint Out.  Guild members Sam Traina, Wendy Adams and Cheryl Whitestone set up their easels and documented the festivities Friday and Saturday evening.  The Guild also had a large tent which housed other paintings and prints by the 3 painters.  The paintings that were created during the Firefly were sold at silent auction and several paintings sold.

This year, in addition to the Twilight Paint Out, the Guild offered a Kooky Craft Tent under which the kids who attended on Friday evening could paint and create Glow Worm Goggles or Firefly Wands.  MAG members who participated in the fun were Rita Knight, Louise Lauderdale, Marjean Meadow, Martha Lower, Lisa Hamilton, Stacey Lewis and Janet Mason.  As night descended on Town Park the Kooky Creations turned on the park as kids ran around showing off their glowing goggles and wands.  It was hard to pack up at 9 because more and more kids wanted to score on a pair!

Thanks to all the helpers, painters and especially to Pete Muzyka who captured it all on "film"!
