Summer 2007
Many things are happening with the Guild in 2007. Some are inspiring and some are sad. May saw the installation of many pieces of art by Guild members in the James Madison Inn on West Washington Street in Madison. It was a great opportunity for Guild members and other Madison residents to show their talents through the excellent foresight of interior designer Bobbie Rushing and hotel manager Rosemary Hughes. The Guild artists worked feverishly to get the paintings completed by the opening date.

With that comes a sad note. One of our most beloved artist members passed away shortly after the opening ceremony. Erik Baurose, who has work at the Inn, was present during the opening tour and got to see his work on the walls of the James Madison Inn. You can read a short memorial to him in our news section.

In October, the Guild is hosting a special week long workshop by renowned artist Armand Cabrera who is famous for his plain aire paintings of the Rocky Mountains and other national treasures. You can see some of his fine work and visit his site at http://www.armandcabrera.com/ and you can contact Karen Strelecki at 706-573-3230 for information on the workshop.
